At 3pm on Thursday February 25,2010, the Filipino Flash touched down in Cebu.  He was welcomed by the regional GMA correspondents and reporters alike.  Upon arrival, he was whisked away to the restaurant Loft where he requested an audience with Mrs. Datches Gorres, the wife of Z "The Dream" Gorres.

Surrounded by well-known and trusted Cebu columnists, Nonito was comfortable being able to speak in his native tongue.  "It's easier for me to speak in Cebuano.  My dad always made us speak Cebuano at home, so I'm more comfortable speaking that than tagalog."

Nonito sat at the head of the table with his wife, Rachel Donaire, Datches Gorres, and trainer Jonathon Penalosa.  Also invited was Dodie Boy Sr and his son Dodie Boy Jr Penalosa.

Nonito welcome the press in his native tongue and welcomed all questions, but first there was a task at hand:  The main reason Nonito had come to Cebu.  That was to give the Gorres family a small token from his latest winnings.

"It's not much," Nonito said humbly, "I don't make millions, but it comes from my heart, and its the least I can do."  He humbly asked others to join his plight to help those in need, especially Z Gorres and his family.  When asked the amount, Nonito replied that he pledged P250,000 of his winnings to Z.

But that's not all.  Nonito handed the mic to his wife who also stated that she doesn't have much to offer but was personally gifting Datches and her family an additional P100,000.  "I don't have much, but it's what I have to offer.  I feel for her [Datches] and I can only imagine what she is going through."

Datches expressed her gratitude to the Donaire Family for all the support and stated that the love shown towards her family from the Donaire's was immeasurable.  She showed it when embracing the couple, with so much emotion, that the embrace welted tears in both Datches and Rachel's eyes.

To close the subject, Nonito also stated his support wouldn't end tonight.  That he was also gathering professonals from the states and seeking additional aide in any way possible for the Gorres Family.

The meeting proceeded with reporters asking about Nonito's last fight.  Nonito made it a point to make it known that Manual Vargas actually tested positive for a prescription pain killer during his post fight evaluation.  He explained "That's why I was hitting him with good counter rights, and in the second round, his mouth was open but I know he wasn't tired and I know I dislocated his jaw.  And then the odd thing was the delayed knock down in the third round.  He was taking alot of my punches, and its probably because he didn't feel it."

The Penalosa Brothers also joined in on the discussion offering their opinion on the fight of their youngest brother, Gerry Penalosa and Eric Morel.  Both felt Gerry did very well and won the match, but also accepted that things like that happen in boxing.  Nonito expressed his willingness to fight Eric Morel in his debut in the 118lbs division on May 8 in Mexico.

Nonito will spend the weekend in Cebu with relatives before heading back to Manila.
