"The Main Event" Concert

The much awaited concert, "The Main Event," bringing together for the first time Asia's Nightingale, Regine Velasquez and Asia's Songbird, Lani Misalucha on Saturday, December 6, 2008 delighted thousands of fans that were roaring in admiration of the superb performances of these two extraordinarily gifted singers.
The opening number exploded with titillating, bouncy music and showcased not only their vocal range
but also their dancing abilities. Regine and Lani gracefully shifted to love songs and then on to dramatic theater and broadway music that brought the crowd to their feet, in awe of the hauntingly, beautiful and powerful performances. Then, entered Mr. Martin Nievera, the Concert King himself, providing some light moments and funny exchanges that amused and tickled the crowd. Finally, Martin rendered the sound of perfect music and harmony with Lani and Regine.
Martin Nievera's guest appearance was short but sweet and powerful. He left the stage surely making an unforgettable mark expected from him as one of the best Filipino singing artist of all time. His performance was a glimpse of his previous headliners and one-man show in Las Vegas.
The music of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston were featured during the last portion of the show and,
once again, the audience was mesmerized.
Overall, the evening was filled with a combination of outstanding musical performances, funny and heartwarming Tagalog music and banter. Regine's comedic timing was perfect and her quips were
simply hilarious. Everyone from the performers to the audience have a great time and enjoyed each
other's company. The Main Event Concert with Regine Velasquez and Lani Misalucha with the special
participation of Mr. Martin Nievera was a night worth remembering and worth sharing.

A press conference for the concert "THE MAIN EVENT" was held at the Celebrity Center International, Hollywood, California with Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha and Martin Nievera in attendance. They were very gracious and had a lot of fun answering questions from reporters representing The Tribune, Asian Journal, Balita, and from other local newspapers. The concert's sponsors and other guests were also invited to ask questions.
One thing that the stars promised to everyone was that the show tonight, Sept. 6, 2008 at the Pasadena Civic Center, would bring out the best of each one of them and will have somewhat of a "fight". Martin Nievera jokingly said "please, I want to be heard, too", referring to the "powerful" voices of the two superstars in the house.
The Press Event was hosted by Vic Perez, Line Producer of the show and featured opening remarks from Anna Co Puno, Producer, and two impersonators mimicking the styles of both Regine & Lani.
Awards of Recognition were handed out to all sponsors and representatives from the various organizations who were called to go up the stage to receive the plaque and framed photo of the event and have their photos taken with the stars.
